Password Protect your Powerpoint Presentations

നിങ്ങളുടെ Powerpoint പ്രസന്റേഷന്‍ പാസ്സ്‌വേഡ്‌ ഇട്ടു സംരക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടത് ഉണ്ടോ ?

എങ്കില്‍ ഈ വഴി നോക്കൂ.

1. Complete Protection:

ആദ്യം വേണ്ട Powerpoint പ്രസന്റേഷന്‍ തുറക്കുക. Tools മെനുവില്‍ നിന്ന് Options എടുക്കുക.

അതില്‍ Security എന്ന Tab ല്‍ Password to Open എന്ന Textbox ല്‍ പൂര്‍ണമായും നിയന്ത്രിക്കാന്‍

ഒരു പാസ്സ്‌വേഡ്‌ ക്രമീകരിക്കാം.

2. Read Only:

പൂര്‍ണമായും വേണ്ടതില്ലെങ്കില്‍ Read Only ആയി ക്രമീകരിക്കാന്‍ Password to Modify

എന്ന Textbox ല്‍ പാസ്സ്‌വേഡ്‌ കൊടുക്കാം. ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ ക്രമീകരിച്ച ഒരു പ്രസന്റേഷന്‍ തുറക്കാമെങ്കിലും അതില്‍ മാറ്റങ്ങള്‍ വരുത്തുവാനോ സേവ് ചെയ്യുവാനോ സാധിക്കുകയില്ല.

പ്രസന്റേഷന്‍ തുറക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് പാസ്സ്‌വേഡ്‌ കൊടുത്ത ശേഷമാണ് തുറക്കുന്നതെന്കില്‍

മാറ്റങ്ങള്‍ വരുത്താന്‍ സാധിക്കും.

Complete Protection, Read Only ഇവ രണ്ടും ഒരുമിച്ചു കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതില്ല.

ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരെണ്ണം കൊടുത്താല്‍ മതിയാകും.

Fix Kingston 32 GB Fake Pen Drive!

Want to Fix your Kingston 32 GB Fake Chinese Pen Drive?

Just Follow ...

Windows thinks "32 GB Kingston" USB Pen drive has 32 GB of memory,

and lets you format only to this maximum value it thinks is correct.

However when I write more than 1 GB onto mine, the file names get nonsense,

the content corrupt. (+-+-+-+-+-+-+)

So it has actually only about 1 GB of memory the rest is cheating!

Download "mkdosfs" ( from here mkdosfs ),

which allows you to specify a number of blocks to format on the drive.

unzip the compressed file. Run mkdosfs.Silent.exe

Suppose my pen drive is I:, so I typed on a Windows cmd prompt:

MKDOSFS -F 32 I: 2060000

it formats the drive in FAT32, with 2060000 blocks of 512K

(which gives you 0.97 GB / 993.28 MB).

I checked by filling up completely the newly formatted drive with files that all files are written correctly.

After running this command, you should also check by yourself that files are

correct until the drive is completely full, since your Pen Drive may have even less memory inside.

IT@School GNU/Linux Display Problems

If you cannot get Graphical Desktop, or gets a blank screen,

go to virtual console 1 by pressing Control + Alt + F1 login as root user and

issue the command,

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

then follow the instructions. Use tab to switch to ok cancel buttons and enter key push the ok/cancel buttons. After completing the configuration, you will be back to root prompt ie #.

Use the command,

/etc/init.d/gdm restart to restart the xserver.

Things to note while reconfiguring the xserver

1. In most cases, the graphics card will auto detect by the system. If still not getting display after configuration is completed, Check your mouse. If it is a serial one, you have to select /dev/ttyS0 or /dev/ttyS1 as the mouse port and select the protocol as microsoft.
2. In configuring monitor, select Simple option and choose the size of your monitor form the list. Also make sure that the resolutions 1024x768 800x600 and 640x488 is selected (stared *). If there is no star(*) on it press space to select the option.
3. In the Video memory option make sure you choose atleast 8192 (8MB of Video ram)
4. Still the graphics is not working choose the driver as VESA

Aircel GPRS to PC Internet Configure Help

This is the Right way to configure Aircel GPRS Mobile Internet to your PC.

1. Go to network connections

2. Click on the left top side to select 'create new connection'

3. Then select next and 'connect to internet'

4. select 'Set up connection manually' -> next

5. and 'connect using dial-up' --> next.

6. Select Your Modem

7. Put ISP as Aircel ---> next

8. Put Ph no. as *99***1#

9. Remember not to put anything in username, password & confirm password and select make this default connection & shortcut to desktop ---> Finish.

10. Now goto network connections and right click on Aircel and select properties click configure and select highest maximum bps and select the three boxes of hardware features, click options tab and deselect prompt username. phone no & password.

11. goto desktop and right click on my computer and select manage. Then select device manager and select the modem. expand it to see the modem.

12. Then just double click on it and select Advanced and put this in extra initialization commands,

AT+CGDCONT=1, "IP", "aircelgprs"

and select ok

Just Finished ! Then Dial the Connection & Enjoy !!
